To complement our suite of ROW related services, SRLS uses Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to analyze the spatial distribution of project parcels. GIS has become an inseparable part of certain public and private ROW projects. It is relied upon during the planning, acquisition, and closing phases of a project to process spatial data into information tied explicitly to, and used to make decisions about, certain parcels of a project.

i44 Smith-Roberts Land Services utilizes GIS services to provide advanced mapping capability for our clients. Clients can provide their existing GIS data to SRLS for updating during the progression of the project. Through the use of GIS, SRLS can pictorially represent ROW acquisition information. Updated maps can then be shared with our clients in a hard-copy print, electronic PDF, or electronic shape file. These shape files could then be loaded onto the clients own GIS service application.

i44 GPS data allows the user to overlay baseline data maps with project specific components. These components contain but are not limited to: parcel size, ownership, environmental study impact, Geotech data, preferred routing, corridor widths, etc… Spatial information is cataloged in our expansive GIS library, allowing us to further evaluate, map, model, and analyze potential project impacts and develop meaningful project constraints and opportunities maps. With GIS as a member of the management toolbox, valuable resources can be efficiently deployed to ensure proper project execution.
